Imran Khan barred from meeting Shahbaz Gill

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan left the PIMS Hospital without meeting Shahbaz Gill after the Islamabad Police barred him.

“Despite the court order the police blocked our way and did not let me meet Shahbaz Gill,” the PTI chairman told the reporters outside PIMS hospital, adding that there was no rule of law in the country.

Imran Khan asked from whom were the police taking orders, “are court orders worthless?”.

The PTI chairman announced that rallies would be held in all divisional headquarters across the country to express solidarity with Shahbaz Gill tomorrow (Saturday).

He said that he would be leading a rally in Islamabad tomorrow to demand the release of Shahbaz Gill and urged the people of Islamabad to take part in the rally.

“If torture can happen to Gill , it can happen to anyone,” Imran Khan added.

Earlier, the spokesperson of Islamabad Police said that additional personnel have been deployed in the hospital, and no one is allowed to meet Gill.

A police spokesperson said that people should not create any kind of law and order situation. “If there will be a situation affecting law and order, action will be taken against the violation,” he added.

Meanwhile, the PTI chairperson alleged that Gill was tortured mentally, physically and faced sexual abuse in police custody.

“All the pictures and videos show Gill was torture both mentally and physically, including sexual abuse — most too gruesome to relate,” the former premier said in a tweet.
