The theatrical trailer of ‘The Legend of Maula Jatt’ is out and it roars like the action of its two lead characters, Noori Nath and Maula Jatt, played by Hamza Ali Abbasi and Fawad Khan.
“Have you heard of #TheLegendOfMaulaJatt ?” the love interest of Maula Jatt, Mahira Khan, said in a tweet. The much-awaited film, which was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, would hit the big screen on October 13.
The Punjabi Maula Jatt was first made in the year 1979, starring the popular Sultan Rahi and Mustafa Qureshi. This remake also features Mahira Khan and Humaima Malik. The script is by Punjabi filmmaker and writer Nasir Adeeb.
“I will cut you in so many pieces that on the way to your grave you will hear only one cry from your mother,” Noori Nat tells Jatt in two minutes and 46 seconds trailer as the shout of Maula comes from the protagonist’s mother.
People have been waiting for the film for four years as the first trailer was released on December 21, 2018 and the screening was suspended indefinitely for violating the Copyright Act. The original film’s maker, Sarwar Bhatti, had gone to court, saying that the new filmmakers had not taken permission from him. It is believed that they reached an out-of-court settlement, which has now made it possible for Lashari to release the film.
Movie director Lashari also shared the trailer on Twitter.
This would be Fawad’s second movie after Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in which he played the role of a DJ alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Aishwarya Rai.
