Babar Azam, Pakistan cricket team skipper, cover drive playing technique was the one for intending children to follow, former English cricketer Nasser Hussain said.
“If I am teaching any young boy to watch cover drive’ I would say watch Babar Azam,” he said in the ICC show masterclass with sports broadcaster Natalie Germanos. “I am going to be biased, sorry Indian fans, I am going to go Babar Azam. I nearly went Kohli but he is slightly different as he is more of a bit with a flick of a wrist. Babar has a lovely little.”
The cover drive, which is one of the attractive shots in cricket, is the way of stroking the ball through the covers with well-timed wristwork and movement of the front foot toward the pitch of a delivery aimed at or outside the off stump.
Hussain was explaining the cover drive shot.
“The people who play the cover drive, they make a very difficult shot look incredibly easy.”
