All rounder Salman Ali Agha is making his Test debut in the first match of Pakistan’s two match series in Sri Lanka.
Legendary batter and current batting coach Mohammad Yousuf handed Salman Ali Agha his Test cap.
“This is for all the young people who dream of playing test cricket,” Yousuf said while handing over the coveted cap to Agha. “May God help you succeed. Our prayers are with you.”
Agha’s selection in place of struggling Fawad Alam is an attempt to bolster Pakistan’s middle and lower-middle order.
He average of 38.4 runs in first class matches, while having an equally decent record in limited overs cricket with a List A average of 35.38 and 20.08 at a strike rate of 115 in domestic T20 matches.
He is equally handy with the ball, with the off spinner having 88 scalps from 68 First Class matches.
