Pakistan on Thursday reported 641 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours, with a 3.41% positivity. This is the highest number of cases since early March.
According to the National Institute of Health, 18,813 tests were conducted Wednesday (yesterday). Out of those, 641 came out positive. Two people died of the coronavirus, while 119 patients are in critical care.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged Pakistanis to follow SOPs as Pakistan faces an uptick in Covid cases.
“We have asked all the provinces to increase Covid tests,” Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad a day earlier. “We are closely watching the religious gatherings which could lead to an increase in Covid cases.”
