Pakistan People’s Party Chairperson and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will inaugurate an intra-city bus service in his hometown Larkana on Tuesday, June 21, which is also the birth anniversary of his late mother, Benazir Bhutto.
The People’s Bus Service project of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority aims to provide quality and affordable transport facilities to the citizens of Bhutto’s hometown.
In the first phase, ten air-conditioned luxury buses have reached Larkana.
Larkana Deputy Commissioner Tariq Manzoor Chandio said that the luxury buses were a gift from Sindh Government for the people of Larkana. They will run from the city’s New Bus Terminal, Quaid-e-Awam University, Airport Road, Sindh University Campus, IBA Sachal Colony Routes, High Court Road, SSP Office, Shah Nawaz Library and other localities.
Citizens will be able to avail air-conditioned buses in the adjoining areas.
Prior to the inauguration, Deputy Commissioner Larkana Tariq Manzoor Chandio and Assistant Commissioner Larkana Ahmed Ali Soomro traveled in the air-conditioned Peoples Bus Service.
Message on BB’s birth anniversary
Bilawal Bhutto, in his message on her mother’s birth anniversay, said his party is committed to the eradication of poverty, hunger and unemployment from the country in line with ‘the philosophy of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’.
He said that the party would ensure socio-economic justice by strengthening parliament and democracy.
“It is the achievement of the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto that the real democratic forces are united in the country today,” the two-time prime minister’s son said in his message.
Democratic forces are united and determined to take the country out of its difficulties, said Bilawal.
Public meeting
Bilawal Bhutto will address a public meeting on the occasion of Benazir Bhutto’s 69th birth anniversary at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Municipal Stadium in Larkana. The arrival of the participants in the meeting will start from 6 pm.
