SIBI: At least six people, including women and children, died on Sunday when the van, in which they were travelling, got caught in floodwaters in Sibi.
As many as 20 people were travelling in the van, which was swept away in the flood in the Kit Mandahi Beji river.
The authorities said that locals rescued the driver identified as Farooq Murree among the four injured. They feared the death toll might rise as there were many passengers in the vehicle.
The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Sibi, which also included women and children.
One of the dead was identified as Ghulam Bakhsh Murree, the officials said, adding that the dead included women and children, while the rescue and search operation for other missing persons was also underway.
The flood situation has arisen in different districts of Balochistan due to rains.
The areas of Dera Bugti and Musa Khel have been inundated, the officials said and added that the damaged link roads of Kohlu, Barkhan and Dera Bugti have been temporarily restored.
