Kim Kardashian claims she did “everything humanly possible” to make her marriage to Kanye West marriage work. Seven years after they married, she filed for divorce from West in February 2021.
In March this year, the divorce was finalised. No information about the circumstances of their divorce was released apart from the very public confrontations from West’s end and the knowledge that his mental health was spiralling.
While Kim and Kanye continue to co-parent their four children, Kim opened up about her marriage to Kanye in a recent episode of The Kardashians, providing a rare glimpse into the relationship.
Kim was seen speaking to her sister Khloe Kardashian about her difficult relationship with Kanye.
“If people knew what my relationship was really like, I think they’d be like, ‘How did this last this long?’ But I can live with myself knowing that I tried everything humanly possible to make a situation work, and so I could walk away absolutely guilt-free,” Kim said.
Khloe who is also going thorough a difficult period in her relationship with Tristan Thompson, agreed with Kim.
She also indicated that she is the type to offer people a “second, third, and fourth chance,” yet Khole made it very clear that she will not be rekindling her relationship with the NBA player in an interview in April.
“I still think he’s a great guy, and he’s a great dad. He’s just not the guy for me,” Khloe said. “I remember when he cheated on me right before I gave birth and I was able to still have him in the delivery room.”
“So yes, it might have looked strange to the outside world, but when my daughter watches my home videos, those videos are going to be as pure and perfect as I was able to make them,” Khloe said, comparing her situation to her sister’s.
Kim has previously spoken about her existing relationship with Kanye and stated that she will strive to keep a cordial relationship with him for the benefit of her children and will not criticise him in front of them or on public forums. Kanye also featured on The Kardashians, where he arrived in the second episode and saved Kim from the sex tape controversy.
Kim also revealed that Kanye, who had been supportive of her during her SNL appearance, had walked out halfway through her opening speech after she joked about divorcing him.
