KARACHI: 21-year old Tuba Hassan has made history by becoming the first woman from Pakistan to be named ICC Women’s Player of the Month.
An all-rounder who also opens the innings, Tuba made an unforgettable entry into the international arena last month bagging 3-8 to help the home side rout the visitors in the first match of the recently concluded T20I series.
The legspinner was also awarded the player of the match for her stellar figures.
She won the prestigious ICC award for the month of May upon being nominated for it for the first time. Pakistan’s Bismah Maroof and Jersey’s Trinity Smith were the other two nominees.
