ISLAMABAD: PTI chief Imran Khan is responsible for the disorder at Islamabad’s D-Chowk on May 25 long march, said the police report submitted to the Supreme Court in a case pertaining to the federal capital protest on Friday.
“Imran Khan asked his workers to reach Islamabad’s D-Chowk at 6:50 [pm] on May 25,” said the report submitted containing answers to the seven questions asked by the apex court.
The PTI chief had called off his protest the next day, fearing there would be “bloodshed” and some of the protesters were “armed”. Imran had given six days to the government to announce early elections or else he would again turn to the streets and this time “with full preparation”.
The inspector general of Islamabad police, who submitted the report, has also included the list of injured and arrested people with it. The videos of burning the trees, Imran Khan’s speech, and workers’ protests are also attached to it.
