One year after launching its green initiative Atlantis Dubai has spent $500,000 on green initiatives to reduce its carbon footprint and facilitate more responsible operations.
The resort is now serving at least 100 dishes that have been made from locally sourced ingredients while they have also invested in AI technology that can identify and record food waste.
Atlantis Dubai wants to eliminate the use of single-use plastic bottles by 2023 and has constructed a $300,000 water purification and bottling plant on site. This has led to the elimination of 2.7 million plastic bottles per year from their operation.
The resort is also supporting four universities and non-profit organisations in their local marine conservation initiatives and donated 1,530 kg of food to a local stray dog centre.
