The glittering trophy of the FIFA World Cup 2022 was unveiled in Lahore today (Tuesday) following its arrival from Azerbaijan as part of its tour to 51 countries and territories.
France ‘98 World Cup winner and former French footballer Christian Karembeu presented the trophy of the men’s international mega competition that will kick off from November 21 in Qatar.
Pakistan women’s national team player Hajra Khan hosted the ceremony, while another national player Saddam Hussain was present there.
Earlier, the trophy was scheduled to arrive in Islamabad but political unrest compelled the organisers to relocate the event to Lahore, reported Radio Pakistan.
The trophy tour that kicked off on May 12 with a first-stop event in Dubai will continue to Saudi Arabia after Pakistan.
