The much-awaited trailer of Aamir Khan’s movie Laal Singh Chaddha, which is an official remake of Hollywood’s Forest Gump, was released on Sunday during the final match of the Indian Premier league.
“Experience the extraordinary journey of #LaalSinghChaddha, a simple man whose heart is filled with love, hope and warmth. #LaalSinghChaddhaTrailer out now! Releasing in cinemas worldwide on 11th Aug,” read the tweet of Aamir Khan Productions. Gujrat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals in the IPL final and won its maiden title in the first appearance in the tournament.
The film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Naga Chaitanya in lead roles while Indian media reported that superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan might have special appearances in the movie.
It took 14 years to complete the film, according to Aamir, who is also producing the film, as it took a lot of time for the ace actor to get rights to make the film and the coronavirus pandemic caused consecutive delays in the film’s release.
The 1994 movie Forest Gump was directed by Robert Zemeckis and Tom Hanks and Robin Wright were the leading roles. The film earned three Oscar awards – including best actor in a leading role, best writing (adapted), and best directing – in 1995.
