Pakistan Telecommunication Authority has refuted claims of internet services being blocked after certain media outlets reported that internet services were down and would remain so for the next two days.
“There is neither any closure of Internet in the country nor any such decision, as wrongly reported by some media outlets. One of the companies Transworld has slight degradation issue, which is being checked. Will update further,” a statement from PTA read.
Transworld’s services had also been restored by the time this report was filed.
“The issue reported earlier in the services of one of the internet companies has been rectified. Internet traffic is normal now,” PTA said in another statement.
