Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says the previous government had taken several catastrophic decisions regarding the economy which caused huge inflation and increased poverty in the country.
In a statement on Sunday, while reacting to the long march announced by former Prime Minister Imran Khan, she said the announcement to hold general elections is the prerogative of the government and its allies, and Imran Khan has nothing in this regard, Radio Pakistan reported.
She said the PTI-led government during its tenure devalued Pakistani Rupee against dollar and took an external loan worth billion of rupees.
The Information Minister said the former prime minister made false promises of ten million job opportunities and construction of five million houses, but could not fulfill them.
Aurangzeb said that the government is going to hold talks with IMF on Wednesday and Imran Khan wants to sabotage it.
