Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz on Saturday ordered the anti-corruption department to immediately release Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader Shireen Mazari.
The chief minister said that her arrest was not in line with the social values, adding that being a woman she is respectable.
He said that an investigation should be initiated against the anti-corruption department that arrested Mazari.
Earlier in the day, the former human rights minister had been arrested from outside her residence by the Punjab Anti-Corruption Department team.
