ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to bring Farah Gogi, a close friend of former first lady Bushra Bibi, back to Pakistan from Dubai, Aaj News reported.
Legal action has been initiated to bring Farah back from Dubai as her presence was necessary for the investigation.
Farah had acted as Imran Khan’s “frontman” and the investigators would try to establish facts from her.
According to the sources, it has been decided to obtain the bank account details of four employees of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Central Secretariat, including Tahir Iqbal, Mohammad Noman Afzal, Mohammad Arshad and Mohammad Rafiq.
Sources said that the records of the amounts received in the private accounts of these employees from 2008 to 2022 are being sought from the State Bank of Pakistan along with Imran Khan’s foreign funding record of nine years – from 2013 to 2022.
Sources claim that the records will reveal how much money Imran Khan took from whom during the sit-in, adding that the records would be forensically examined by independent auditors, adding that the arrests would be made in light of the evidence to be collected through these investigations.
Sources claimed that the government decided to write letters to the international banks to locate the secret PTI accounts, adding that the action was aimed to get hold of the record of PTI’s foreign bank accounts in the US, UK, Canada, Norway, Finland, New Zealand, Australia and other countries.
The sources further said that it has also been decided to scrutinize the statements and income of the former premier.
