In an unusual development, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) decided to live stream court proceedings on trial basis, Aaj News reported on Friday.
According to details, IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallh decided on the experiment and ordered the court’s IT department to install the live streaming system in the court room.
The proceedings from the day were expected to be live streamed on a limited scale to see what response comes from this order.
If the trial proves to be successful, the eminent jurist noted, then everyone will be provided access to the website on which they can live stream the court proceedings.
Justice Minallah also sought suggestions from high court reporters and Islamabad High Court Journalist Association on the practicality and value of such a service as well as ways to improve it.
