Pakistan conducts successful test of ballistic missile: ISPR

The Pakistan military on Saturday successfully tested the Shaheen-III surface to surface ballistic missile, another addition to the country’s weaponry system, the Inter-Services Public Relations said.

“Pakistan today conducted a successful flight test of Shaheen-III surface to surface ballistic missile. The test flight was aimed at the revalidating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system,” the armed forces media wing said in a statement.

The video showed the staff and military personnel in jubilation after the successful launch of the test flight.

According to media reports, Pakistan has conducted such missile tests and military drills to boost its defence mechanism and equip the weapon system with advanced technologies.

The development follows a successful test of an enhanced range version of the indigenously developed Babur cruise missile 1B conducted by the country on December 21, 2021. On the occasion, the director-general of the Strategic Plans Division expressed his full confidence that this test would further strengthen Pakistan’s strategic deterrence.

In February 2021, the military successfully test-fired an earlier version of the missile with the capability to hit land and sea targets up to 450 kilometres away.

The Babur cruise missile 1A was launched from a “state of the art Multi Tube Missile Launch Vehicle.”
