With the National Assembly session to vote on the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan taking place on Saturday (today), netizens flocked to Twitter with varied opinions about the resolution. Some of them backed the opposition, while others put their weight behind the premier.

In a landmark Supreme Court judgement, the apex court had declared Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri's dismissal of the no-confidence motion null and void, ordered the speaker to conduct voting on it and restored the National Assembly - which had been dissolved by President Dr Arif Alvi on the advice of the prime minister.

As NA Speaker Asad Qaiser adjourned the session till 12:30pm without voting on the resolution, one of the social media users in a lighter tone cited the viral statement of the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly "beggars can't be choosers" as the adjournment of the sitting.

While another user predicted that Qaiser was going to have a fake heart attack to ensure that the voting on the no-confidence motion does not take place. "From PTI logic, that seems to be only logical."

Some users labelled the united opposition's efforts to topple the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government a "drama serial Eid Special".

Many others wished the prime minister good luck, saying "Turkey stands with you".

Others went to the extent of felicitating Pakistan for "losing" a brave leader who has "defended Muslims" across the world and expected that the now ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf would come back again.

In his remarks, Journalist Fahd Hussain said the prime minister had an option to "face defeat with dignity".
