Three upcoming rom-com dramas to look forward to this month

After the huge success of Ayeza Khan and Osman Khalid Butt starrer Chupke Chupke last year, Pakistani audiences have been eagerly waiting for new romantic, light-hearted dramas to make them forget all about the worries of their lives.

The good news is, that they won’t have to wait any longer because three exciting new projects are coming out this April.

Romantic-comedy dramas Hum Tum, Chaudhry and Sons, and Paristan featuring some top Pakistani actors will premiere on Monday.

Hum Tum

Starring Ahad Raza Mir, Ramsha Khan, Sarah Khan and Junaid Khan in lead roles, Hum Tum is a modern, Gen Z rendition of a story that starts of with hate between the protagonists which eventually turns to love.

The drama serial is written by Saima Akran Chaudhry and directed by Danish Nawaz, both of whom worked together on Chupke Chupke last year. Mir who has previously acted in dramas like Ehd e Wafa and Yakeen Ka Safar will be seen in a comic role for the first time.

Hum Tum will air from Monday to Friday at 9pm on HUM TV.

Chaudhry and Sons

Also penned by Saima Akram Chaudhry, Chaudhry and Sons is a thriller-comedy telling the story of a typical desi family split in half, starring Ayeza Khan and Imran Ashraf. Other members of the cast include, Sohail Ahmed, Asma Abbas, Irsa Ghazal, Noor ul Hassan, Zoya Nasir, Madiha Rizvi, Shagufta Ejaz, Yasir Nawaz and Sami Khan. To be aired on GEO TV, the drama is directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain.

Paristan

One of the most popular on-screen couples, Arsalan Naseer and Aymen Saleem, is returning to our TV screens this month. Audiences loved the actors’ chemistry in Chupke Chupke so much that the two got their own drama this year.

Starring Javeria Saud, Merub Ali, Mira Sethi, Ali Safina, Junaid Jamshed Niazi, Navin Waqar and Vlogger Tamimoor Salahuddin (Mooro), the story revolves around Saleem’s character Pernia who lives in her own fantasy world while her love interest Arsam, played by Naseer resolves challenges of his own. The drama will air Monday to Friday on HUM TV at 7pm.
