The trailer of singer-turned-actor Goher Mumtaz and Kubra Khan’s upcoming film ‘Abhi’ was released on Friday, promising a romantic tale of star-crossed lovers separated by a conflict.
Mumtaz shared the teaser on his Instagram profile and said, “I love music, colours emotions, depth, stories, that defines & drives me as an artist. I have all compiled it for you to enjoy this emotional, musical ride in my first dream film Abhi.”
“It’s a reality now! Enjoy the teaser,” he added.
The film has been directed by Asad Mumtaz and produced by Pennine Kennedy Film UK, in association with GM Production, while the music credits for the film goes to Mumtaz.
In another Instagram post, Mumtaz revealed that actor Hareem Farooq would also be making an appearance in the film.
The teaser opens with a mesmerizing view of snowcapped mountains and viewers can hear Mumtaz say, “You know I’ve always heard from people that life gives everybody a chance. And if you avail that chance, your life can change forever.”
“This life, it’s in the moment,” follows voice-over by Khan.
The one minute and eighteen seconds long video features scenic scenes and a hefty dose of drama. It shows the two characters falling in love, then being separated after Mumtaz’s character is dragged and beaten by some men during what seems like a military conflict. The intense emotions are amplified by a song sung by by the former Jal member.
The original theme song of the film is created by director Shoaib Mansoor.
Reacting to the trailer on Mumtaz’s Instagram, many wished the actor luck for the upcoming project.
“All the best! Trailer looks absolutely amazing!” said singer Momina Mustehsan.
