Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that not only the opposition's no-trust motion is destined to fail but those part of the opposition coalition will also face defeat in the next general elections.
Addressing the Pakistan Overseas Convention in Islamabad on Tuesday, he said that the people of Pakistan have decided to support the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) instead of supporting the corrupt political leaders of the country.
The premier said that the opposition was under the false impression that the nation had forgotten about their corruption, adding that his party would emerge victorious in the next general elections.
Taking a jibe at JUI-F's Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Khan said that Fazl has been "selling religion" for the last 30.
On the other hand, Imran continued, when he took part in a debate against rising Islamophobia at the United Nation Security Council (UNSC), even Russian President Vladimir Putin and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau gave statements against Islamophobia.
He accused the three parties of the united opposition of engaging in ''performative politics" instead of working at the grass-root level for the betterment of the country.
Terming opposition politicians — JUI-F chief Fazl, PML-N president Shehbaz Sharif and PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari — "the three stooges", he thanked opposition parties for filing a no-trust motion against him as it had "lifted" the entire party and now "everyone" was heading to the capital for the PTI's rally at D-Chowk on March 27.
"I was thinking of how the country changed suddenly in 10 days. People forgot about inflation and [the morale] of my entire party have been lifted."
He said that the opposition parties in the past used to call each other corrupt but now they all are united.
The premier said that he was thankful to them them for coming together so the nation could see that "if they are the ones to save Pakistan, it is better to drown with Imran Khan".
The premier said that PTI had risen from the grassroots which is why the opposition parties could not compete with it.
Khan said that he had never been anti-America, anti-Britain or anti-India, adding that he was against the drone strikes that were conducted in Pakistan during the governments of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari, resulting in the loss of lives and flight of capital.
