The delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) called on Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in Islamabad, Aaj News reported.
The leadership of both parties discussed the political situation in the country and agreed to work together in the wider interest of the country.
Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani, Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, Syed Murad Ali Shah, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Saeed Ghani, Sharjeel Memon, Rukhsana Bangash and others were present in the meeting held at Zardari House.
The MQM-P delegation included Aamir Khan, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Aminul Haq, Wasim Akhtar, Khawaja Izhar and Javed Hanif.
Zardari during the meeting acknowledged that all reservations of MQM-P were genuine and said that "PPP acknowledges MQM-P's mandate and stake in urban Sindh."
According to the sources MQM-P will meet PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif tomorrow to discuss federal issues.
Last week, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had said in a statement that prime minister was assured of MQM-P’s ‘full support’ and that the prime minister's meeting with the MQM-P leadership in Karachi was very fruitful.
His statement had come after prime minister Imran Khan met with MQM-P's leadership in Karachi a day after the joint Opposition submitted no-confidence motion against the premier.
