In grim warning, Shehbaz tells PM Imran to watch what he says

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif on Friday said that they were ready to face the ruling party in the political arena while telling PM Imran to watch he says or be ready to face the consequences.

Addressing a joint press conference along with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Shahbaz warned the Prime Minister to "control his tongue otherwise we know how to control it for you".

He said that if PM Imran is as fair as he claims to be, then he should start the accountability process from his own family and declare the source of income of his sister's properties abroad.

Fazl, while referring to Thursday's police action at Parliament Lodges that saw hundreds of JUI-F activists manhandled, he said that such tactics on part of the government were regretful. He added that it would only strengthen the resolve of party workers who have been summoned to Islamabad to take part in the proposed protest in the capital.

On the issue of the premier's use of derogatory terms for his political rivals, he said that Imran Khan had a habit of resorting to abusive and foul language. "His language shows that he does not deserve the seat [of prime minister]."

Fazl also demanded an explanation from the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) that how was the prime minister holding public rallies after the submission of no-confidence motion against him.

The JUI-F chief also expressed confidence that the no-trust motion to oust the premier would be a success. "It is a matter of getting the majority’s support and the opposition parties are confident in this regard," he added.
