Twitter praises defending champions Multan Sultans

After defeating Lahore Qalandars on Wednesday by 28 runs, Multan Sultans are headed to the final match of the Pakistan Super League to defend their title as champions. Social media users congratulated the team and lauded their performance.

“Exceptional cricket from Muhammad Rizwan and all his boys,” said a Twitter user.

One person said that the strategic awareness Multan Sultans exhibit during their matches is hardly witnessed in any of the other teams.

Chasing the target of 163 Lahore Qalandars’ Kamran Ghulam and Fakhar Zaman forged a small partnership despite the tight bowling by Multan. After Ghulam was removed, and Mohammad Hafeez got out for zero, Harry Brook and Zaman maintained a partnership of 54 to keep Lahore in the game.

However, the tables were turned in the favour of Multan when Dahani removed Brook for 13 and sent Samit Patel back with a sensational catch.

That’s when Multan Sultans got a complete grip on the match.

Twitterati praised Dahani for his brilliant balling performance.

A heart-warming Twitter exchange between cricket legend Shahid Afridi and Dahani also took place after the match.
