The latest medical report of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, which was submitted to the Lahore High Court, restricted him to travel to Pakistan as it might increase the risk of him developing the “Takotsubo Syndrome.”
According to Harvard Medical School, the Takotsubo Syndrome, also known as broken heart syndrome, is a weakening of the left ventricle, the heart's main pumping chamber, usually as the result of severe emotional or physical stress, such as a sudden illness, the loss of a loved one, a serious accident, or a natural disaster such as an earthquake.
But what’s most unusual about this syndrome is that it almost exclusively occurs in women.
The medical report signed by Dr. Fayaz Shawl of the Washington Adventist Healthcare White Oak Medical Center, has turned Nawaz Sharif into a target for social media trolls and memes.
Many called him a coward and a man with “no heart.”
Others made fun of the former PM by sharing memes and videos.
How can someone who can’t live in Pakistan due its stressful environment become its PM? Asked one user on Twitter.
Another credited Sharif for working so hard to create public awareness about rare heart diseases.
