Temperatures drop in Karachi ahead of predicted rain, thunderstorm

The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicts another spell of rain in Karachi starting in the evening with temperatures expected to dip at least 8 degrees Celsius.

An unverified Twitter account claiming to be the Pak Met Department tweeted an advisory on Wednesday night about rain across the country.

The popular Pak Weather Updates account on Twitter also warned of heavy rain in Karachi tonight.

The department has also forecast rain and wind thunderstorms across Sindh, namely Dadu, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jamshoro and Mirpur Khas.

It has also forecast rain and snowfall in Quetta over the next 24 hours.

Balochistan is still reeling from the aftermath of recent rains it suffered with Gwadar and Kech being declared calamity areas.

Chief Minister Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo on Wednesday said his government has called the army, navy, Frontier Corps, police, and Levies Force to help with rescue operations.
