Actor Alizeh Shah found herself in the eye of the storm on Thursday after a video of her smoking in a car appeared on Twitter causing many to slam the actor for a nasty habit. However, a lot of the criticism aimed at her also exposed a double standard.

One of the accounts that tweeted the video said the actor was "caught" smoking as if it was a crime.

Others used the opportunity to poke fun at the Ehd-e-Wafa actor and the responses her smoking elicited.

But a lot of people pointed out the double standards at play and how male smokers are not treated the same way as women smokers.

Another asked why smoking damages a man's health but a woman's reputation.

Many pointed out the regressiveness at play in discussing Shah's smoking.
