Lt General Faiz Hameed, who previously served as the director general Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), has assumed charge as Corps Commander Peshawar.
Lieutenant General Nauman Mahmood handed over the command to Hameed in a ceremony that took place at Corps Headquarter Peshawar on Monday.
In major reshuffle announced by the Inter Services Public Relations in October, Lt General Mahmood will be assuming responsibilities as president of National Defence University. He remained on the post of Corps Commander for nearly two years.
In a delayed notification issued by the government on October 26, the Prime Minister Office confirmed the posting of Lt General Hameed as Corps Commander Peshawar to be effective from Nov 20.
