ISLAMABAD: The rupee gained for the third straight day against the US dollar on Friday as the currency closed the week at Rs171.65.
According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the PKR settled at 171.65, recording an increase of 0.36% during the day against the previous day's closing of Rs 172.26.
According to Forex Association of Pakistan, the buying and selling rates of dollar in open market were recorded at Rs 171 and Rs 172.7 respectively.
Likewise, the price of euro which was traded at Rs 200.32, appreciated by 35 paisas as compared to its last closing of Rs 199.97, the State Bank of Pakistan reported.The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs 1.51, whereas a decrease of 28 paisas was witnessed in the exchange rate of British Pound, which was traded at Rs 236.71 as compared to its last closing of Rs 236.99.The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased by 16 paisas each to close at Rs 46.73 and Rs 45.76 respectively.
