Four security personnel martyred in IED blast in Bajaur

PESHAWAR: Four security personnel have been martyred when their convoy was targeted with an improvised explosives device (IED) blast in War Mamoond area of Bajaur district.

According to police, the bomb was planted at a roadside.

The deceased were identified as police driver Samad Khan, constable Noor Rehman and FC soldiers Jamshed and Mudasir.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has strongly condemned the incident.

In a statement in Peshawar, he expressed deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of four security personnel including two policemen and two FC personnel.

Earlier in the day a Pakistan Army soldier was martyred during exchange of fire with terrorists at a checkpost in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Hangu district.

According to the military's media wing the terrorists attacked a checkpost in Thall Tehsil and during the intense exchange of fire 26-year-old soldier Waqas embraced martyrdom. The sepoy was a resident of Mansehra.
