Former Pakistan cricket captain Inzamamul Haq's condition is now stable following an angioplasty in Lahore a day earlier, said his agent on Tuesday.

Haq, who is considered one of the all-time batting greats according to Espn Cric Info, reported chest pain the last three days but was cleared until Monday when new tests showed he had had a heart attack and needed to be rushed for surgery.

The 51-year-old former captain was in stable condition according to his agent and under observation.

Haq, according to Cricinfo, was Pakistan's highest run-getter in ODIs with 11701 runs in 375 matches, and their third-highest in Tests with 8829 runs in 119 matches.

Haq retired from international cricket in 2007 but has served as consultant and then the chief selector from 2016 to 2019. He has also worked as head coach of Afghanistan.

Many turned to Twitter to send their best wishes and prayers to Inzi Bhai as he is popularly known.
