ISLAMABAD: The KSE 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Monday, losing 107.87 points, with a negative change of 0.23 per cent, closing at 46,528.21 points against 46,636.08 points on the last working day.
A total of 194,720,902 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 387,292,541 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs8.078 billion against Rs16.237 billion the previous day.
As many as 512 companies’ transacted shares in the stock market, 135 of them recorded gain and 365 sustained losses whereas the share price of 12 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were Telecard Limited with a volume of 19,855,500 shares and price per share of Rs 22.01, WorldCall Telecom with a volume of 13,366,500 and price per share of Rs 3.19 and Byco Petroleum with volume of 11,308,000 and price per share of Rs 8.80.
Rafhan MaizeXD witnessed a maximum increase of Rs 199.99 per share, closing at Rs 10999.99. The runner up was Pak Services, the share prices of which climbed up by Rs91.00 to Rs1470. Nestle Pakistan witnessed maximum decrease of Rs 104.99 per share, closing at Rs 5805.01, followed by Philip Morris Pak, the share prices of which declined by Rs 55 per share to Rs 860.
