Pakistan recorded 118 more deaths of Covid in the last 24 hours, according to the National Command and Operation Centre.
So far at least 25,788 people have died of the coronavirus across the country since the pandemic emerged in Pakistan in 2020.
Out of 52,112 tests conducted on Monday, 3,838 people tested positive for the virus.
The Covid positivity rate was 7.36 per cent.
Meanwhile, smart lockdown has been imposed in five areas of Peshawar, reported Aaj News.
A notification issued by the city administration stated the curbs have been imposed in Faisal Colony, Hayat Abad Phase 6, Faqeer Abad, Zaryab Colony and Aijaz Abad areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s provincial capital, according to the report.
It further stated the restrictions were imposed due to rising positive cases of Covid in the selected areas. Meanwhile, the administration allowed only five people to offer congregational prayers in the mentioned areas.
So far K-P has recorded 161,853 cases of the virus, according to the government data.
