Movement along Pak-Afghan border 'under control', says DG ISPR

Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Major General Babar Iftikhar on Friday said that movement along Pakistan-Afghanistan border had been controlled and the situation there is normal.

Addressing a press conference in Rawalpindi on Friday, he said that the Pakistan side of the border is completely safe and secure.

"We have made best possible arrangements to maintain security at the border and every movement is under control there," the DG ISPR said and added situation in Afghanistan has changed rapidly since August 15.

Maj Gen Babar Iftikhar said 90 percent of fencing along the Pak-Afghan border has been completed.

“Pakistan Army has more than 2,000 check posts along Pak-Afghan border while Afghanistan only had 350 check posts,” he added.

The DG ISPR said that soldiers of Afghan National Army sought refuge in Pakistan and were treated in line with military values.

He said that Pakistan trusts that Taliban will ensure Thehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) does not operate against any country using Afghan soil.
