What came of the petition against survivor for "staging" Minar-e-Pakistan assault?

A sessions court on Wednesday has asked the Shahdara SHO about a petition filed against the TikToker who was assaulted on Minar-e-Pakistan on August 14.

According to a story in Dawn, Mian Tausif filed the petition arguing the woman TikToker and her companions staged the assault at Minar-i-Pakistan "for cheap publicity."

He asked the Shahdara Police Station to register an FIR against the woman but no action was taken; he asked the court to tell the police to lodge the case against her.

The court has asked the SHO of Shahdara to reply by Aug 28.

News of this has been met with disdain on Twitter as can be seen with the tweet below:

Ealier, the prime minister said the incident at Minar-e-Pakistan caused him pain and shame.

He attributed lack of proper unbringing to the "very big reason for the destruction we are seeing in society."

Imran Khan was speaking in Lahore when he said: "When I was growing up, nobody could have thought that acts like this would happen [in Pakistan]. I have been to the entire world; the respect for women I saw while growing up existed in Muslim countries but not in the West. A big reason for the destruction we're seeing is that our children are not being brought up properly."
