The forensic report prepared by the Punjab Forensic Science Agency confirmed that the finger prints, obtained from the weapon — found at the site where Noor Mukadam was murdered — were of Zahir Jaffer’s, reported Aaj TV.
Zahir is accused of Noor’s murder and he is on judicial remand in Adiala Jail.
The report added that the samples obtained from the scene of the crime also confirmed that Jaffer and Noor had sexual intercourse before her murder.
Although the postmortem report has not been made public, sources in the police said the marks on her body revealed that she had been tortured, adding that she could have been in an abusive relationship.
The forensic report further said the CCTV footage is original and has not been edited, and it identified the people in the footage as Jaffer and Noor.
In the footage — obtained from the house where Noor was murdered — Noor was seen jumping off a balcony and Jaffer came instantly behind her and dragged her back.
Therapy Works' employee name added to ECL
In related development, the name of the Therapy Work's employee, Amjad, was added to the Exit Control List on Wednesday. He becomes the fifth person connected to the murder to have his name included in the ECL. Zahir, his parents and two household workers were added to the ECL earlier.
Amjad has been accused of protecting Zahir from being arrested. Therefore his name has been added in the list.
Amjad was reportedly the first person to arrive at the scene of the crime and suffered injuries when attacked by Jaffer.
The police recorded Amjad’s statement under Section 161 as he was a worker of the counselling and psychotherapy centre and one of the important eye-witness to the murder scene.
In his statement, Amjad said Zahir’s father called Therapy Works as Zahir was reported to be out of control at the crime scene. Amjad was in a team of five people sent to the Jaffer family home.
According to the statement, Zahir tried to kill Amjad by firing his gun but the weapon didn’t go off. Zahir then used a sharp instrument to injure Amjad.
Sources in the police said Amjad underwent liver surgery.
Based on Amjad's testimony, Section 324 was also included in the case registered against Zahir.
Amjad is under police custody.
