Lieutenant General (retired) Asim Saleem Bajwa on Tuesday has resigned from the post of chairman China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority.
"I bow my head before Allah Almighty for giving me an opportunity to raise and steer the important institution of CPEC Authority as one window for all CPEC projects, charting the future direction," Asim Bajwa said on twitter.

Meanwhile PM’s Special Assistant on Political Communication Shahbaz Gill announced on his official twitter account that Khalid Mansoor has been appointed as Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SAPM) on CPEC affairs after the approval from prime minister Imran Khan.

Asim Saleem Bajwa wished the best for Khalid Mansoor, who has replaced him as the special assistant to the prime minister on CPEC Affairs.
Terming CPEC as a "lifeline for Pakistan", Bajwa said it would "transform us into a progressive and fully developed country".
