Pakistan has reported 2,783 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours with a bulk of them in Sindh, marking third day of 2,000 cases. The country's positivity rate stands at 5.6%
According to NCOC, 49,247 people were tested for the infection of which 2,783 tested positive.
Friday's figure takes the total to 986,668.
39 people succumbed to coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
According to figures reported in Dawn, the breakdown of cases is as follows:
Sindh: 1,631Punjab: 415Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 167Balochistan: 180Islamabad: 133Gilgit Baltistan: 78Azad Jammu and Kashmir: 179

Speaking on the importance of getting vaccinated, head of NCOC Asad Umar said the unvaccinated were seven times more likely to get the virus. He tweeted the same on Friday.
