Taking pride in achieving a milestone in the vaccination drive, head of NCOC Asad Umar tweeted Tuesday morning that Pakistan had vaccinated its highest number of people in a day on Monday.
He said they crossed 525,000 and of this 300,090 were first time doses.
Many in Pakistan remain hesitant to get vaccinated and there are fears the country is experiencing its fourth wave as a result of ease in restrictions by the government.
The Covid statistics posted by NCOC on their Twitter account for July 12 show that Pakistan's positivity rate is at 3.63% and 21 deaths were reported.
The positivity rate is down from a day earlier where it stood at 3.84% however, that day 15 people were reported dead.
The total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan are currently 39,644.
