Zahoor Agha appointed as new governor Balochistan

President Arif Alvi on Wednesday appointed Zahoor Ahmed Agha as the new governor of Balochistan after the former governor of Balochistan Amanullah Khan Yasinzai tendered his resignation.

According to the notification issued by President Office, President Arif Alvi appointed Zahoor Agha as governor after accepting Yasinzai’s resignation.

Prime Minister Imran Khan, in April, had requested Yasinzai in a letter to resign as he wanted to appoint someone else in his place.

In his letter the premier has said, "I intend to appoint a new governor in Balochistan and would, therefore, request you to resign.

"This, of course, does not in any way reflect adversely on your competence or performance. It is just that the transformed political challenges Pakistan faces at present require, I believe, a change."
