Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has summoned a session of the National Assembly's committee on national security. During the session, the committee will be briefed on the latest situation and regional issues amid the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan.
Qaiser will chair the session which will take place on July 1 at 3:00 pm . The in-camera proceedings will be attended by the Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, and Defence Minister Pervaiz Khattak.
Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif, PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto and other lawmakers will also attend the meeting. Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, federal ministers, and parliamentarians have been specially invited for the briefing.
According to ARY News, military leadership including Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa and DG ISI Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed will also attend the session.
Key national issues including the current situation in Afghanistan and its impact on Pakistan will be discussed during the meeting and the lawmakers will be briefed on the matters by National Security Adviser (NSA) Moeed Yusuf and secretaries of the federal ministries..
