Pakistan on Tuesday has reported 34 COVID-19 related deaths and 838 new cases in the last 24 hours. This is the first time Pakistan has reported cases below 1000 since the third wave peak.
According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 35,039 coronavirus tests were taken countrywide, of which only 838 came out positive.
There are currently 2,611 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted to different hospitals in the country, 15 new critical cases were reported. The reported national positivity rate is 2.39%.
With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed active cases stands at 40,929. Pakistan has so far recorded 943,027 confirmed cases, 21,782 deaths, and a total of 880,316 recoveries from the novel disease.
As per the numbers shared by the Ministry of National Health Service, 93.4% of the total confirmed cases have recovered while the mortality rate is 2.3%.
Currently, most active cases are reported in Sindh (23,318) followed by Punjab (11,006), and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (3,492). There are currently 1,544 active cases in Islamabad, 500 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, 962 in Balochistan, and 107 in Gilgit Baltistan.
Vaccination update:
According to the latest numbers shared by the NCOC, Pakistan has so far administered 11,085,787 vaccine doses. 3,006,048 people are fully vaccinated while 5,902,003 have received at least one dose.
