Pakistan on Friday has reported 1,303 new cases and 47 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 40,483 coronavirus tests were taken countrywide, of which only 1,303 came out positive.
There are currently 2,841 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted to different hospitals in the country, however, no new case of severe infection was reported. The reported national positivity rate is 3.21%.
With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed active cases stands at 43,618. Pakistan has so far recorded 938,737 confirmed cases, 21,576 deaths, and a total of 873,543 recoveries from the novel disease.
As per the numbers shared by the Ministry of National Health Service, 93.1% of the total confirmed cases have recovered while the mortality rate is 2.3%.
Currently, most active cases are reported in Sindh (23,671) followed by Punjab (12,130), and Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (3,725). There are currently 2,290 active cases in Islamabad, 621 in Azad Jammu & Kashmir, 1,083 in Balochistan, and 98 in Gilgit Baltistan.
