Punjab Education Minister Murad Raas Thursday announced to revise school timings owing to the current heatwave in the province.

Taking to Twitter, the provincial minister announced the new schedule. He made it clear that all public and private schools must comply with the new directives. In a tweet, he said:

"ANNOUNCEMENT: All Public and Private Schools of Punjab to comply with the following New School Timing Schedule: 7 am to 11:30 am. Please follow SOPs issued by the government."

Earlier the federal government had also announced a new schedule on Wednesday. According to a notification issued by the authorities.

As per the new rules, schools can only run on 50% capacity with two shifts to accommodate all students. The first shift can be run from 7 am till 11 am from Monday to Thursday. While the second shift can take place on Friday and Saturday at the same timings.
