Islamabad: As per the daily coronavirus updates provided by the National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the nerve center to synergize and articulate a unified national effort against COVID-19, 2,379 new cases were detected in Pakistan taking the total tally to 877,130.

While 76 casualties reported in the last 24 hours take the total death count to 19,543.

As per the reports, a total of 30,402 people were sampled for the novel coronavirus infection on the third day of Eid out of which 2,379 tested positive for the virus. This meant that the positivity rate remained 7.82% yesterday.

Although the country has seen a significant drop in the positivity rate in the past couple of weeks owing to the stricter lockdown measures, there is a scare that the rate might go up in the next few days due to the increased social interaction during the Eid holidays. Therefore, we need to keep following corona SOPs so that we can decrease further our positivity rate.
