ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has ordered immediate dismissal of 53 FIA employees and sought a report from DG FIA Wajid Zia within 15 days.
Three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Tariq Bandial heard a contempt case against FIA for making unlawful recruitments in the agency and not implementing the court order in this regard. Justice Ijazul Hasan remarked on FIA report that the Supreme Court had given three instructions to the FIA in 2001.
The chief justice said the agency was required to make recruitments through public service commission. But the agency‘s report revealed that it did not follow the rule and hired workers without conducting their competition exam and interview, the SC judge observed.
An FIA lawyer told the court that four of the 60 employees had died and three had passed the test.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed said that the decision of the High Court could not affect the decision of the Supreme Court. After the decision of the Supreme Court, the employees went to other courts. Dismiss these employees today.
The court, while dealing with the case, ordered that the employees who did not pass the FPSC test should be dismissed immediately and the DG FIA should submit the implementation report to the Supreme Court within 15 days.
