Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has said that the government is not afraid of any kind of protest, sit-in, or long march of the opposition parties.
Talking to a private news channel, the federal minister said that the opposition's concerns over Senate elections have strengthened Prime Minister Imran Khan's point that transparency can only be assured through open ballots.
Reservations and doubts over the Senate elections could not be cast if the opposition would have accepted the open ballot proposal, he added.
Shibli Faraz said the opposition is criticizing the government just to hoodwink the nation after its open defeat in the elections of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Upper House.
The federal minister on Friday, while addressing a press conference, said that the government is willing to hold dialogue with the opposition on issues related to economic, electoral, and judicial reforms. He, however, reiterated that 'no NRO will be given to the corrupt political leaders.'
The Information Minister regretted that the opposition parties are now trying to make controversial the election of Chairman and Deputy Chairman Senate. He said the elections were held in a free and transparent way and that these were not influenced or manipulated.
