Pakistan on Sunday has reported 1,780 new cases and 39 COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.
According to statistics shared by National Command and Operations Center (NCOC), the country's nerve center for unified efforts against coronavirus, 38,887 coronavirus tests were taken, 1,780 new confirmed cases were registered, and 39 deaths were reported countrywide in the last 24 hours.
There are currently 1,595 critical patients of COVID-19 admitted at different hospitals in the country.
With these latest statistics, the country's total number of confirmed cases stands at 590,508. Pakistan has so far recorded 13,205 coronavirus-related deaths, and a total of 559,248 patients have recovered from the novel disease.
Pakistan has so far conducted 9212480 tests.
COVID-19 infections and hospitalization numbers increasing once again:
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination, Dr. Faisal Sultan, on Friday, warned that the infection and hospitalization rate due to COVID-19 is increasing once again in Pakistan.
Taking to Twitter, Dr Sultan urged the masses to follow the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the prevention of the spread of coronavirus:
"COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations in Pakistan are increasing once again. The decline seen over the past 2 months is clearly reversing as positivity has gone up from 3.31% to 4.16% within a week. We must remember that the pandemic is not over."
